Our Mission

  • To implement the humane practice of ‘TNVR’ (Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate & Return) of Community Cats
  • Maintain, on a daily basis, our current cat population by feeding, watering, and providing medical care as needed
  • Coordinate public assistance for ‘TNVR’ and monitor Colony Caretakers

Our History

Community Cats Coalition of Boca Raton
The Boca Cat Alliance was started in 2010 after residents in east Boca Raton noticed the obvious starvation and stress among free-roaming, outdoor Cats in numerous locations. Our Volunteers quickly learned that the most potent enemies of these Cats were starvation, toxic chemicals, poisoning, loose dogs and horrific abuse by those who hate them. These ‘COMMUNITY CATS’ (a combination of feral, stray, abused and/or abandoned Cats) have no choice but to adapt or perish, form colonies, and procreate in brutal environments.
Our Organization set out to remedy the starvation issue and developed feeding schedules to ensure that all Cats were properly fed and hydrated in safe locations leaving no food behind. A humane trapper was hired so the colony reproduction would stop and all kittens were removed and brought to foster homes. We have proven for over a decade that ‘TNVR’ monitored ‘COMMUNITY CAT’ colonies absolutely work because when reproduction stops, the population reduction naturally takes place.
In 2014, Palm Beach County Officials approved ‘TNVR’ (Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate, Return) to control and manage the outdoor Cat population. Our organization was the first to present this County decision to our City with presentations to City Council and full documentation reports. We chose the new name ‘Community Cats Coalition of Boca Raton’ and incorporated in 2016 to become a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) charity.
Now in 2021, our dedicated “Boots on the Ground” Volunteers feed over 300 ‘TNVR’ COMMUNITY CATS every day or night in Boca Raton in many locations! We know that involving and educating the Community will be the only way to the help end the suffering and overpopulation. The plight of our COMMUNITY CATS is NO fault of their own…it is a TRAGIC SITUATION created by cruel and irresponsible people that needs to be resolved by good people.

Our Principals

Lauren Quinn, President of Community Cats Coalition of Boca Raton
Lauren Quinn is one of the original Founders and the current President of the Community Cats Coalition of Boca Raton, an all Volunteer, not-for-profit 501(c)3 Charity incorporated in 2016. She oversees a dedicated team of 23 volunteers who feed and maintain every day or night over three hundred (300!) ‘TNVR’ Community Cats in established colonies in the Boca Raton area.
The organization’s volunteer Board of Directors consists of area executives, educators, small business owners and retired professionals. Together they provide expertise and management experience to assure that the necessary $44,000 annual operating budget provides the best possible nutrition and care of these most deserving Community Cats.
In 1980, Lauren moved to Boca Raton for an Internship to complete her BA from Central Michigan University. She has owned and operated small businesses for decades while raising a family and continues her private practice of Neuromuscular Therapy for almost 30 years for clients and their pets. Her exposure to Animal Welfare began in 1984 when she brought Texas Deputy Sheriff Jerry Owens, Founder of H.E.L.P (Humane Enforcement Legal Protection) for Animals for a presentation here in our City—and her mission to help end animal cruelty began.
A passionate animal lover and protector for decades, she has focused her energies since 2012 on ending the tragic suffering and starvation of the outdoor Cat population using the most scientifically documented method —‘TNVR’ (Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate, Return). Since 2014, Palm Beach County approved this method which protects outdoor Cats. With proper colony feeding, watering, monitoring and LOVE, she and her incredible “Boots on the Ground” volunteers have made a difference never documented before!
